GROHE announced the introduction of its new Blue faucets. The new kitchen faucets, GROHE Blue® Pure and GROHE Blue® Chilled & Sparkling provide the opportunity to draw fresh, filtered water or sparkling water, respectively,directly from your home faucet. Easy to operate and re-fill, the Blue Collection helps to eliminate the waste and expense of plastic bottles, while also providing a first-of-its-kind affordable sparkling water option for homeowners.
GROHE Blue® Pure, coming in 2012, provides great-tasting, perfectly filtered still water from a convenient drinking source suitable to every modern home. GROHE Blue® Chilled & Sparkling, offers the additional benefit of professional-level chilled water that can be carbonated to taste and enjoyed to individual desires, whether filtered still, tap or fully sparkling. The sensual, tactile faucet design blends European minimalism with fluid, natural curves available in U- and C-spout models.
“We’re at the forefront of a technological evolution in the kitchen, where faucets are beginning to function as high-performing, versatile appliances that are changing how homeowners experience water,” said Paul Flowers, senior vice president of design for GROHE. “This new style of multifunctional faucets, exemplified by the introduction of GROHE Blue, addresses consumer demand for convenient, quality products that also help to reduce costs and environmental waste.”
In addition to the single handle faucet (for water volume and temperature), there is also a rotating handle to control the flow of filtered water for optimum precision. A striking blue LED display on the handle blinks to indicate an easy filter cartridge replacement, based on when the capacity falls below 10 percent. The smallest available filter (150 gallon size) lasts for up to six months.
Both GROHE Blue® Pure and Blue Chilled & Sparkling feature a dedicated internal waterway that carries the filtered water from the filter cartridge to the faucet and separating it from the unfiltered in order to ensure the freshest-tasting water possible. The small filter cartridge, available in 150, 400 and 800 gallon sizes, easily fits below any sink and contains a four-step filtering process with an active carbon filtration to remove unpleasant tastes and impurities and ion exchanger technology that adjusts to local water hardness for superior tasting water. GROHE Blue® Chilled & Sparkling also contains a professional-level water cooler and carbonator.
Awarded a prestigious 2010 International Forum Design (iF) Product Design Award for design excellence, the GROHE Blue faucet and filter system also come with an elegant glass serving carafe.
